The correlation between the synthesis of skeletal muscle actin, myosin heavy chain, and myosin light chain and the accumulation of corresponding mRNA sequences during myogenesis☆
[摘要] ClonedcDNAprobeswereusedtomeasuretheaccumulationofmyosinheavychain,myosinlightchain2,andactinmRNAduringdifferentiationofratskeletalmusclecellcultures.Thiswascomparedwiththechangesintherateofsynthesisofthecorrespondingproteins.AccumulationofthosemRNAsequenceswasdetectableafewhoursbeforetheonsetofthephaseofcellfusion;however,themainincreaseinhybridizableRNAoccurredduringthephaseofrapidcellfusion.AclosecorrelationwasfoundbetweentheamountsofmRNAscodingfortheseproteinsandtherateofsynthesisoftheproteins.TheresultssuggestthattheactivationofstoredmRNAisnotamajormechanismforcontrollingthetimeatwhichtheseproteinsaresynthesized.
