Avian parasympathetic neurotrophic factors: Age-related increases and lack of regional specificity
[摘要] Parasympatheticneuronsfrom8-day-oldchickembryociliarygangliaweregrowninculturefor24hrinthepresenceofextractsofchickheartfromanimalsaged7daysinovoto8daysposthatching.Thebiologicalactivityofthesecardiacextractswithrespecttobothneuronalsurvivalandnervefiberproductionincreasedwithageofthedonoranimaltoreachaplateauaroundhatching.Followingpolyacrylamidegelisoelectricfocusingofposthatchingchickheartandeye,apeakinactivitythatsupportsparasympatheticneuronalsurvivalwasfoundassociatedwitheluatesofgelslicesofpHbetween4.5and5.5forbothtissues.Ourresultssuggestthatthefactorresponsibleforparasympatheticneuronalsurvivaliscommontoatleasttwoparasympathetictargetorgans.
