Cytoplasmic inclusions specific to the sea urchin germ line☆
[摘要] Wehavestudiedprimordialgermcellsandgamete-producingcellsofbothsexesoftheseaurchinLytechinuspictususingelectronmicroscopy.Twofibrogranularinclusionsarepresentinmostofthestagesexaminedandarespecifictothegerm-linecells.Oneoftheinclusionsconsistsofamorphousmaterialofundefinedshapeandsizewhiletheothertypeconsistsofsphericalbodies0.1μmindiameter.Thelatterarenamedgoniosomesandarescatteredindividuallyinthecytoplasmorinorderedarraysofupto50units.Bothgoniosomesandamorphousmaterialareoftenassociatedwithmitochondria.Athirdtypeofinclusion,thebipartitebody,isfoundonlyinoocytesandmaybeaspecificproductofoogenesis.
