Osteoclast precursor cells are present in the blood of preossification chick embryos☆
[摘要] Inanattempttoascertainthetimeofappearanceofcirculatingosteoclastprecursorcells,wehavetransplantedquailbonerudimentsintoorontotheextraembryonicmembranesofvariouslyagedchickembryos.Weobservedthatosteoclastprecursorcells(1)arepresentintheembryoniccirculationpriortotheonsetofosteogenesis,(2)differentiateprecociouslyinresponsetoafactororfactorspresentindevelopingbonerudiments,and(3)increaseinnumberuntilaboutmidwayinembryoniclife.
