Neural plate morphogenesis and axial stretching in “notochord-defective” Xenopus laevis embryos
[摘要] Themorphogeneticmovementsofneuralectodermcellsassociatedwithneuralplatedevelopmentandneuralfoldfusionwereexaminedinnotochord-defectiveembryos.Thosemovementswereapparentlynormalinembryoswhichdisplayedanotochordreducedinsizeorwhichcompletelylackedanotochord.Likewise,axialstretchingintheanterior-posteriordirectionwasalsonormalin“notochord-defective”embryos.Arolefortheanurannotochordindirectingneuralfoldfusionandaxialstretchingcan,therefore,beruledout.
