[摘要] Themorphogeneticmovementsofneuralectodermcellsassociatedwithneuralplatedevelopmentandneuralfoldfusionwereexaminedinnotochord-defectiveembryos.Thosemovementswereapparentlynormalinembryoswhichdisplayedanotochordreducedinsizeorwhichcompletelylackedanotochord.Likewise,axialstretchingintheanterior-posteriordirectionwasalsonormalin“notochord-defectiveâ€embryos.Arolefortheanurannotochordindirectingneuralfoldfusionandaxialstretchingcan,therefore,beruledout.
