Axial structure development in ultraviolet-irradiated (notochord-defective) amphibian embryos
[摘要] FertileXenopuseggswereirradiatedwithlowdosesofultravioletirradiation(254nm)andpermittedtodevelopthroughneuralmorphogenesis.Theywerethenexaminedwiththescanningelectronmicroscope.Theeffectsofirradiationonthedevelopmentofthenotochord,neuraltube,andsomiteswereobserved.Embryoswhichdisplayeddefectsinnotochordstructurefrequentlyexhibitednormaldevelopmentofbothneuraltubeandsomites.Thoseembryoswereexaminedindetail.Theapparentnormalcharacterofaxialstructuresin“notochord-defectiveâ€embryospromptedadiscussionoftheroleofthenotochordinnormalaxialstructuremorphogenesis.
