Developmental changes in acetylcholine receptor aggregates at rat skeletal neuromuscular junctions☆
[摘要] Thedevelopmentofacetylcholine(ACh)receptoraggregatesattheneuromuscularjunctionwasstudiedinratsternomastoidmuscles.ThefirstjunctionalclustersofAChreceptorswerelooseaggregatesofsmallreceptorpatches(1512to1612daysofgestation).Theseclusterscoalescedtomorecompactbutsimpleplaques(18daysofgestationto3dayspostnatal).Duringthefirst2weekspostnatalseveralchangesoccurred:thereceptorplaquewasmodifiedtotheadultjunctionalreceptordistribution,multipleinnervationwaseliminated,andextrajunctionalAChreceptorswerelost.Atthetimeofbirththereceptorsinthejunctionalreceptorplaquewerealreadydegradedmoreslowlythanwereextrajunctionalreceptors.Thejunctionincreasedinlengthmostrapidlyduringtheperiodwhenthemuscleincreasedmostrapidlyinmass,from15to100dayspostnatal.Itisconcludedthatthejunctiongoesthroughseveralstagesduringdevelopment.
