Clonal analysis of two wing-scalloping mutants of Drosophila
[摘要] Developmentintwowing-scallopingmutants(scallopedandvestigial)wasanalysedinmosaicflies.Instrongallelesofthesemutantsthewingsarereducedtovestiges.Whenatemperature-sensitivealleleofscallopedwastreatedwithheatpulses,particularwingareaswereeliminatedinaspecificorder.Homozygousmutantclonesweremadeinheterozygousflies:Marginalclonesineitherthedorsalorventralwingsurfacecausedlocalscalloping,affectingbothsurfacestothesameextent.InternalMinute+clonessurvivedwellwhensurroundedbyweakerMinutecells,butpoorlywhensurroundedbynormalMinute+cells.LargeMinute+clonesofeitherscallopedorvestigialcouldmakedistalpartsthatareneverseeninthewingsofmutantflies.
