Development of the simple cellular slime mold Dictyostelium minutum
[摘要] AnultrastructuralstudyhasbeenmadeofthelifecycleofthecellularslimemoldDictyosteliumminutum.ThedevelopmentofD.minutumisrathersimpleifcomparedwithDictyosteliumdiscoideum.After2hrofstarvation,amoebasmoveinanonpulsatilemannertowardsanacrasin-secretingfoundercell.Thechemotacticsignalisnotrelayedbytheamoebasandstreamformationtowardprimaryaggregationcentersdoesnotoccur.Usually,morethanonefruitingbodyarisesfromonepseudoplasmodium.Nomigrationofthepseudoplasmodiumtakesplace.Thefirstsignsofsporedifferentiationarefoundinlateaggregates,wherepresporecellscanbedistinguishedfromthesurroundingundifferentiatedcellsbytheincreasedelectrondensityoftheircytoplasm.VacuolescomparablewiththepresporevacuoleofD.discoideumappearinbothcelltypes;theyfusewiththeplasmamembraneduringsporulationofelectron-densecellsandarelysedinelectron-lightcells,whicheventuallyformthestalk.IncontrastwithD.discoideumnospatialseparationbetweenpresporeandprestalkcellsisfounduntilverylateinfruitingbodydevelopment.
