Mutations causing pattern deficiencies and duplications in the imaginal wing disk of Drosophila melanogaster☆
[摘要] PatterndeficienciesandduplicationsareproducedinderivativesoftheimaginalwingdiskbythemutationssdUCI,vg,tet,andwg1inDrosophilamelanogaster.InsdUCIandvgthemajorityofadultsshowasimplewingemarginationphenotype,butsomeofthemshowalmostcompletewingdeficiencyaccompaniedbyduplicationoftheremainingthoracicstructures.Intetandwg1thelatterclassofphenotypeisseeninsomeoftheanimals,buttheremainderarenormalandthesimpledeficiencyphenotypeisnotobserved.SerialsectionsofsdUCIandvgdisksrevealedextensivecelldeaththroughoutthethirdlarvalinstarinlocationscorrespondingtopresumptivewingblade.Asmallamountofscatteredcelldeathwasalsofoundinearlythirdinstarwild-typedisks,anditissuggestedthatthemutationssdUCIandvgaffectwingshapebyexaggeratingtheextentofnormalcelldeath.ThetypesofduplicationsseeninsdUCIandvgmutantadultsareconsistentwiththeknownregulativebehaviorofculturedfragmentsofimaginalwingdisks,andwethereforeproposethattheduplicationsareasecondaryresponsetodegenerationofalargepartofthedisk.Littlecelldeathwasseenintetandwg1duringthethirdlarvalinstar,sothesemutationsmaycausepatternduplicationbyadifferentmechanism.
