Effects of anti-embryonal carcinoma serum on aggregation and metabolic cooperation between teratocarcinoma cells☆
[摘要] Effectsofrabbitanti-embryonalcarcinomaIgGonembryonalcarcinomacellsandtheirdifferentiatedderivativeswerestudiedatdifferentlevelsofcell-cellinteraction.Fabfragmentsofanti-ECIgGwerefoundtoinhibitaggregationofthemajorityofECcelllines.Two,however,wereinsensitive.Anti-ECFabfragmentsactalsoonthetransferofmetabolitesbetweenECcells:therescueofHPRT−ECcellsbyHPRT+ECcellsinselectivemediumisabolished.ThesefindingsarecorrelatedwiththedisappearanceoftightandgapjunctionsfromthesurfaceofECcells(Duniaetal.,1979).Thepresenceofthesurfacestructureinvolvedintheactionofanti-ECFabfragmentswastestedbyabsorptionexperimentsfollowedbydecompactiontestonPCC4AzaR1cells.AllECcelllinesandtwoembryoniccelllines—atrophectodermalandanendodermalline—werefoundtobearmaterialabsorbingthedecompactingactivity.Theresultsarediscussedintermsofstateofdifferentiationofthecelllinesandofcomplexityofaggregationofembyroniccells.
