Localization of electrical excitability in the early embryo of Dentalium☆

[摘要] ElectrophysiologicalpropertiesofDentaliumtrefoilembryoswereexamined.Theblastomeresareelectricallycoupled,sotoexamineelectrophysiologicalpropertiesofindividualblastomeres,weseparatedthevegetallylocatedpolarlobeandthetwoanimalpole“QQ”cellsbycuttingwithglassneedles.ThepolarlobemembranewasfoundtobemoreexcitablethanthatoftheQQcells,indicatingalocalizationofionicconductancemechanismsintheearlyembryo.
