Protein synthesis, polyribosomes, and peptide elongation in early development of Strongylocentrotus purpuratus☆
[摘要] TheabsoluterateofproteinsynthesisindevelopingembryosofStrongylocentrotuspurpuratushasbeenmeasuredbylysineincorporation.Proteinsynthesisrisestoabout240pghr−1embryo−1fromthetwo-toeight-cellstage,andthengraduallyincreasestoamaximumofover500pghr−1embryo−1intheblastula.Thechangesinproteinsynthesisareaccompaniedbysimilarincreaseinthepolyribosomesintheembryo,sothat60–65%oftheribosomesareinpolyribosomesbytheblastulastage.Thedataareusedtocalculateanaveragepeptideelongationrateof1.8aminoacidsribosome−1sec−1.
