Characterization of a neuronal growth factor from mouse heart-cell-conditioned medium☆
[摘要] Afractionofmediumconditionedbyembryonicmouseheartcellsinculturepromotesthegrowthofsympatheticandparasympatheticneuronsinvitro.Thefactorstimulatesneuriteoutgrowth,elevatesspecificactivitiesoftyrosinehydroxylaseandcholineacetyltransferaseinsympatheticganglionexplants,andenhancessurvivalofdissociatedsympatheticneuronsinculture.Thegrowth-promotingactivity,whichhasaprofoundeffectonsurvivalofmousesympatheticandparasympatheticneuronsbutlittleeffectonmousesensoryneuronsurvival,issensitivetotrypsinandelevatedtemperature,suggestingassociationwithapolypeptideorprotein.Unlikenervegrowthfactor(NGF),theconditionedmediumfractionisinsensitivetoanti-NGFantiserum,andfostersgrowthofmouseparasympatheticneurons.Consequently,theconditionedmediumappearstocontainanewnervegrowth-promotingfactor.
