Transcription of nonrepeated DNA during mouse and rabbit development☆
[摘要] NonrepeatedDNAsequences(tritiumlabeled)ofthemouseandrabbitgenomewerehybridizedinsolutiontohighconcentrationsofRNA.EstimatesoftheamountofnonrepeatedDNAtranscribedinvarioustissueswasdeterminedbyanalysisofDNA/RNAhybridsonhydroxyapatite.RNAisolatedfrombrainandliverofthenewbornmousehybridizedto5.2%and2.5%ofthenonrepeatedDNA,respectively.At2wkpostpartum,comparableresultsof8.5%forbrainRNAand3.2–4.5%forliver,kidney,andspleenRNAwereobtained.Littlechangewasnotedinthecomplexityoftranscriptionbetween2and6wkpostpartuminbraintissue,howeverdecreasesto2.0%wereobservedintheothertissues.EvidenceoftissuespecificandstagespecificdifferencesinthetranscriptionofnonrepeatedDNAwerenoted.Increasedcomplexityoftranscriptioninbraintissuewasalsodemonstratedintheadultrabbit,ascerebralhemisphereRNAhybridizedto5.0%ofthenonrepeatedDNAwhileRNAisolatedfromliver,kidney,andspleenwascomplementaryto2.0%.
