[摘要] Conditions,flowingwaterandhighertemperature,whichfavorregenerationlocally,makethoseregionselectronegativetonearbyregions,inTubularia.Conditionswhichretardregenerationlocallytendtomakethelocalregionelectropositive.Whenaproximalendisfavoredlocallyandtheinherentgradientfavoringthedistalendispartiallyovercome,bothendsmayregenerate.Inthiseventbothendsarenegativetothemiddlebeforevisibleregeneration.ThevariousconditionsknowntodeterminepositionofregenerationinTubulariaallmaketheregionwhichwillregenerateelectronegativebeforethereisvisibleregeneration.Tentacleridgesappearwiththeirdistalendspointingtowardthemostnegativelocus.Changingthepolarityofthebioelectricfieldchangedboththepositionanddirectionofregeneration.
