Muscle morphogenesis in axolotl limb regenerates after removal of stump musculature
[摘要] Thisresearchwasdesignedtodeterminewhetherornotanormalstumpmusculatureisrequiredfornormalmorphogenesisofmusclewithintheregeneratingamphibianlimb.Limbsofadultaxolotlswereamputatedproximaltotheelbow,andapproximately99%oftheskeletalmusclewasremovedfromthelimbstump.Theearlystagesofregenerationandblastemaformationfollowedarelativelynormalmorphologicalandtemporalcourse.Inallcasesgrosslynormallimbsregenerated.Theseregeneratedlimbsallcontainedlargeamountsofmuscle,whichwasusuallyarrangedintoanatomicallyrecognizablemusclesinboththeforearmandhand.Itisconcludedthatmusclemorphogenesisintheregeneratingamphibianlimbisnotdependentuponananatomicallynormalstumpmusculature.
