[摘要] AstudywasmadeoftheratesofsynthesisanddegradationoftheS-100proteinduringthepostnataldevelopmentofthemousecentralnervoussystem.From3to15daystheS-100concentrationremainsconstant.From16to21daysS-100accumulates,risingfromabout4μgperbraintoalevelofapproximately16μgperbrain.From21daysto10moofage,theS-100concentrationremainsconstant.Thezero-orderrateconstantofsynthesisandthefirst-orderrateconstantfordegradationweredeterminedduringtheseperiodsbymeansofisotopeincorporationstudies.Initiationofaccumulationisaccompaniedbyanincreaseinbothratesofsynthesisanddegradation.DuringaccumulationofS-100therateofdegradationremainsconstantwhiletherateofsynthesiscontinuallyincreases.Cessationofaccumulationiscausedbyadecreaseinbothratesofsynthesisanddegradation.Thereforethecontroloftheaccumulationofthisproteinduringmousecentralnervoussystemdevelopmentisaresultofmodulationofbothratesofsynthesisanddegradation.
