[摘要] Whenprospectivelimbmesodermisimplantedintotheprospectiveflankofanotherembryo,asupernumerarylimbdevelopsontheflankofthehost.Threedifferentcriteriabywhichthepresenceofhostcellscouldbeascertainedwithintheextralimbhavebeenused,namely,labelingofthegraftwith3H-thymidineforthestudyofitsevolutionduringthefirst2daysafterimplantation,distinctivenuclearfeatureofimplantedquailcellsforthestudyofhistogeneticsteps2and3dayslater,andfinallyspecificdistinctiveintegumentarycharactersforthestudyoflateorganogenesisbetween13daysofincubationandhatching.Bythesemeansprospectivenonlimbflankcellsofthehosthavebeendemonstratedtoparticipateintheoutgrowth,thehistogenesis,andtheorganogenesisoftheextralimb.
