NS-6 (nervous system antigen-6): A new cell surface antigen of brain, kidney, and spermatozoa
[摘要] CellsurfaceantigenNS-6isidentifiedonMUNTAD(mouseundifferentiatedneuraltumor,adenovirusinduced)cellsbycomplement-dependentcytotoxicitywithanti-MUNTADcellantiserummadeinC3H/HeJ×C57BL/6JF1mice.Quantitativeabsorptionshowsthatthisantigen(orantigens)iscompletelysharedbynormalbrain,kidney,andspermatozoa.Itisabsentfromliver,spleen,thymus,skin,andmuscle.NS-6ispresentonbrainonembryonicDay9,theearlieststagetested,andtheamountofNS-6onbrainandonkidneydoesnotchangefrombirthtoadulthood.Brainsofmanyspecies,fromfishtochickenandhuman,haveantigen(s)whichcross-reactwithNS-6.Withinthemousebrain,thisantigenshowsnolocalizationtoanyregion,norisitapparentlyrestrictedtoanyonecelltype.ThisisconsistentwithNS-6beinganantigenofpluripotentneuralprogenitorcellswhichispassedtobothneuronalandglialprogeny.Expressedontwomouseandtwohumannervoussystemtumors,NS-6isabsentfromallothertumorsandcelllinestested.
