Tissue-, age-, and stage-specific patterns of protein synthesis during the development of Drosophila melanogaster☆
[摘要] Patternsofpolypeptidesynthesisintheimaginalandlarvaltissuesofwild-typelarvaeofdifferentageshavebeenexaminedusingaone-dimensionalpolyacrylamidegelelectrophoresisandautofluorography.Tissue-,age,andstage-specificpatternsofpolypeptidebandshavebeenobservedandcharacterized.Thereareoneortwobandsuniquetolarvaltissuesand13bandsuniquetoimaginaldiscsandbrain.Eachtissuehasitsowncharacteristicbandpattern.The160-hrwingdisccontainsall13discandbrain-specificbandsplusanothereightuniquebands.The160-hrlegdisccontains11disc-andbrain-specificbandsplusanothersixuniquebands.The160-hreye-antennaldisccontainseightdisc-andbrain-specificbands.Therearefivebandscommontoallimaginaltissuesatalltimesbutnotfoundinanyofthelarvaltissues.Thereappearstobeamuchgreaterdifferencebetweenthesametissueatdifferentagesthanthereisbetweendifferenttissuesatthesameage.Thereisalsoamarkedchangeinthetotalbodyproteinsextractedfromdifferentdevelopmentalstages.Eight(11%)ofthebandsdetectedappeartobecommontoalltissuesatalltimes,while13bands(18%)appeartobespecifictopairsofimaginaldiscs.Inaddition,therearemajordifferencesinthepatternsobservedbetweenpulsedandpulse-chasedanimals.Theseresultsarediscussedinrelationtotheconceptofdifferentialgeneactivity.
