Ecdysone-induced changes in morphology and protein synthesis in Drosophila cell cultures☆
[摘要] PermanentcelllinesderivedfromembryonicDrosophilamelanogastershowpronouncedmorphologicalandbiochemicalchangesinresponsetotheadditionofβ-ecdysone,themoultinghormone,ortwoofitsanalogs.Schneider'sline3cells,andtheFrenchlineKc,morphologicallydifferentiateintowhatappeartobeneural-likecells.Duringthisperiodlevelsofacetylcholinesteraseactivityincrease10-to30-fold,andDNAsynthesisceases.Thelevelofcholineacetyltransferaseactivityremainsunchangedinline3,andisverylow.Schneider'sline2cellsshownomorphologicaltransformationinresponsetoβ-ecdysone,butundergoamarkedchangeinthepatternofproteinsynthesis.Thesixmajorecdysoneproteinsarenot“heatshockâ€proteins.
