The development of basement membranes of the mouse embryo☆
[摘要] Thedevelopmentofcollagenandepithelialbasementmembraneswasstudiedimmunohistochemicallyinmouseembryosutilizingspecificantibodiestocollagenthatwouldnotreactwithbasementmembranesofepitheliaandantibodiestoepithelialbasementmembranesthatwouldnotreactwithcollagen.Anepithelialbasementmembraneappearedpriortothedevelopmentofmesenchymeinembryosof5–6daysofageandlaybetweenembryonicepitheliumandproximalendoderm.Collagenwhichwasnotpresentintheembryoatthisstageappearedlater;itwasobservedfirstinthewallsoftheaorta.Adifferentiatingepithelialorganusuallydevelopsasabudfromaprimordiumandsharesacommonbasementmembranewithitsprogenitor.Theepithelialbasementmembraneantigenisassociatedwiththenewlydevelopedtissueafterdetachmentfromtheparenttissueandsubsequentlyforthelifeoftheanimal.Thedataareinaccordwiththepreviouslyestablishedconceptthatepitheliasynthesizetheirbasementmembranesandinadditiontheysuggesttheprobabilitythatepithelialbasementmembranesarechemicallysimilar.
