Ectodermal or presumptive skin disintegration in the frog embryo as a response to specific tissue factor(s)☆
[摘要] Afewhoursofexposureoffrogembryosattheneurulastage(14–15)tohead,ventral,orisolatedskinhomogenatespreparedfromdonorembryos(stages13–25)producedanextensiveectodermaldisintegrationoftherecipientembryos,whiletheirendodermremainedintact.Nodisintegrationwasobservedinneurulaetreatedwithhomogenatesofembryonicendoderm,ofavarietyoffeedingtadpoleoradultfrogtissues,orofembryonicnewtheads.Frogembryosatstagesolderthantheneurulawerealsofoundtobesusceptibletothehomogenates.Intheseembryositwasagainshownthatonlytheexternaltissues(ectodermandunderlyingmesoderm)weredisintegrated;othertissues(somites,peeledbellyregion)wereunaffected.Othertestobjectstried(feedingtadpolesoradultfrogtissues)underwentnodisintegrationwhentreatedwiththeembryonichomogenates.Toadembryosweretheonlyothertestobjects,besidesthefrogembryos,thatweredisintegratedbytheactionofthehomogenates.Apossibleroleofthehatchingenzymeintheectodermaldisintegrationofthefrogembryowasexcludedbyappropriatecontrolexperiments.
