[摘要] Aproteinkinaseactivityassayablewithwholecellsoftheslimemoldisdescribed.Thisactivityislargelylostifthecellsaredisruptedbysonicationorfreeze-thawing.ThecationandpHrequirementsoftheenzymearedescribed.NeithercAMPnordibutyrylcAMPstimulatetheactivityunderavarietyofconditions.Inaddition,cellsharvestedfromdifferentperiodsinthegrowthcycleorfromdifferentstagesindevelopmentyieldedthesameactivitypercellandshowednocAMPordibutyrylcAMPeffect.WithhistonetypeIIasthesubstrate,theproductofthereactionwasjudgedtobeaphosphorylatedserineorthreoninebyitslabilityinhotalkalianditsstabilitytohotacid.
