Drosophilia myogenesis in vitro: The genesis of “small” myocytes and myotubes☆
[摘要] CellcultureswerepreparedfromDrosophilamelanogasterembryos35minutesaftertheinitiationofgastrulation.Individualcellswereobservedatintervalsbyphasecontrastmicroscopy,andadescriptionofmyogenesiswasassembled.Typically,amesenchyme-likemyoblastdividedinvitroabout5hraftertheinitiationofgastrulation.Thedaughtercells(“smallâ€myocytes)aggregatedwitheachotherandwithneighboringmyocytesduringthenext7hr,approximately,butdidnotdivideagain.Atabout12hraftertheinitiationofgastrulation,themyocytesbegantoelongate.Duringthenextseveralhourstheycompletedelongation,becamebipolarandsometimespulsatile.Aggregatedmyocytesalignedthemselvesinlineararrays,andsomeofthemfusedtoformmyotubes.Thedifferentiationof“smallâ€myocytesandmyotubesderivedfromthemwasapparentlyautonomous,beginningwiththemyoblaststageimmediatelyprecedingdivisionatabout5hr,anditmightbeautonomousfromevenearlierstagesofmyogenesis.
