Cytodifferentiation of the acinar cells of the rat submandibular gland☆
[摘要] Thepresentstudyexaminesthecytodifferentiationoftheacinarexocrinecellsoftheratsubmandibulargland(SMG)attheultrastructurallevel.Submandibularglandsfromratsat14daysofgestationthrough12weekspostpartumwereexamined.TheacinarcellsoftheSMGbegintodevelopat15–16daysofgestationandarenotfullydifferentiateduntil3–4weeksafterbirth.TheearliestcellsshowmultipleGolgizonesandafewstrandsofwidelydilatedroughendoplasmicreticulum(rer).Subsequently,thecellsshowanorderlysequenceoforganellechangesandrearrangementwhichleadstofullydifferentiatedexocrinecells.Aseriesoffivemorphologicallydistinctsecretorygranulesisobservedduringdifferentiationandthesegranulesserveasmarkersofthefunctionalmaturityofthecells.Attentionisgiveninthisstudytothedevelopmentoftheapical-basalpolarityoffunctionalorganellestypicallyseeninexocrinecellsanditsrelationshiptosecretorygranuleproduction.Thefindingsofthecurrentstudyarecomparedwithsimilarreportsintheliteratureonthedevelopingpancreasandparotidglandoftherat.Itisconcludedthatdifferentdevelopmentalpathwaysarefollowedtoattainasimilarfunctionalcapacityinthethreeorgans.
