Mitochondrial DNA in Xenopus laevis oocytes: I. Displacement loop occurrence☆
[摘要] DisplacementloopsarefoundinmitochondrialDNAisolatedfromtheovariesofmaturefemaleXenopuslaevis.Thesedisplacementloopssubtendsome7%ofthecontourlengthofamitochondrialcircularDNA.Whenmatureoocytesareshedasunfertilizedeggsatleast76%ofthemitochondrialDNAintheseeggscontainsdisplacementloops.TheimplicationsofthesefindingsarediscussedwithrespecttodisplacementloopoccurrenceinothermitochondrialDNAsandespeciallywithrespecttomitochondrialDNAreplication.
