Cellular distribution of RNA populations in 16-cell stage embryos of the sand dollar, Dendraster excentricus☆
[摘要] RNAwasextractedfrompurepreparationsofmicromeresandmeso-plusmacromeresisolatedfrom16-cellstageembryosofDendrasterexcentricus.Molecularhybridization-competitionexperimentsdisclosedthatthebindingof16-cellstagelabeledRNAtodenaturedspermDNAwascompetedequallywellbymicromereRNA,meso-plusmacromereRNA,total16-cellRNAandunfertilizedeggRNA,indicatingtheegg-typepopulationsweredistributedalmostequallyinthedifferentblastomeres.Incontrast,experimentswith3H-RNAextractedfrommicromeresobtainedfrompulse-labeled16-cellstageembryosshowedqualitativedifferenceswhenunfertilizedeggRNAandtotal16-cellstageRNAwereusedascompetitors.SuchdifferencesinRNApopulationscouldnotbedetectedin3H-RNAisolatedfromthemeso-plusmacromerefraction.
