[摘要] Thephysiologicalpropertiesofdevelopingnerve-musclejunctionsinRanacatesbeianatadpolesaredescribed.Developingneuronsatdifferentstagesofontogenyformedfunctionalsynapticconnectionswithasectionoftailmuscleimplantedinplaceofthehindlimbbud.Transmissionisquantalinnature,sensitiveinnormalwaystocalciumandmagnesiumconcentrations,andconformstoaPoissondistribution.Thequantalcontentisinitiallylowandincreaseswithdevelopment.Mepp'soccurrandomlyandhavelowfrequencieswhichincreaseslightlywithdevelopment.Thesizeofasinglequantumoftransmitterdoesnotchangeduringdevelopment.Themusclefibersaremultiplyinnervated,resultinginEpp'swithdistinctpeaksandcomplexskewedmeppamplitudehistograms.Nosignificantincreaseswereobservedinthelevelofdifferentiationofthedevelopingmotorneuronsasaresultoftheirhavinginnervatedaportionofmaturetailmuscle.Thenumbersofdevelopingmotorneuronsincreasedintheexperimentallateralmotorcolumn,andalagintheirmaturitywasobservedrelativetomotorneuronsinthecontrollateralmotorcolumn.
