The development of teratomas from parthenogenetically activated ovarian mouse eggs☆☆☆
[摘要] OvarianteratomasdevelopedspontaneouslyinabouthalfofthefemalesoftheinbredstrainLT.Someofthembegantodevelopatabout30daysofage,andtheincidencerosetoabout50%inanimals90daysold.Theyoriginatedfromovarianeggsthatbegantodevelopparthenogenetically.Theyresemblednormalembryosuntiltheblastocyststage,afterwhichmostbecamedisorganized.Themostadvancedovarianembryoobservedhadaprimitivestreakandresembledanormalembryoof7.5days'gestation.Mostoftheteratomaswerebenignandcomposedofmanytypesofwelldifferentiatedtissuesofembryonicandextraembryonicorigin,butsomeofthemcontainedproliferatingundifferentiatedcells.Partsofmanyofthemweregraftedsubcutaneously,butonlyonegaverisetoatransplantableteratoma.Itproducedseveraltissuetypesandundifferentiatedstemcells.ParthenogenesisalsooccursspontaneouslyinasmallpercentageofovulatedLTeggs.Theyundergocleavageandimplantintheuterus.Mostofthemdieat5to7daysofgestation.
