Chromosome complements of Rana pipiens embryos developing from eggs injected with protein from adult liver cells☆
[摘要] FertilizedeggsofRanapipienswereinjectedwithvariousamountsofproteinextractedfromadultlivercellsofthesamespecies.Suchinjectedembryosgenerallyexhibiteddevelopmentalarrestatthelateblastulastage.Previousworkshowedthatnucleiofsuchembryoshadbeenirreversiblychangedsothattheycouldpromotedevelopmentonlytothebeginningofgastrulationwhentransplantedtoenucleatedeggs.Inthepresentstudychromosomeanalysesweremadeatsuccessivestagesinthedevelopmentofinjectedembryos.Theseanalysesrevealedthepresenceofchromosomalabnormalitiessuchasrings,fragments,andlossofchromosomesinalargeproportionofcellsinstagespriortoarrest.Thesechromosomalabnormalitiesmayreasonablybeinvokedasasufficientcauseforthearrestofdevelopment.
