Experimentally induced changes in glutamotransferase activity in embryonic tissue☆
[摘要] Glutamotransferaseactivityintheretinaofchickembryosatdifferentstagesofdevelopmentwasassayedinfreshlyisolatedtissueand,aftercultivationinvitro,asorgancultures,cellaggregates,andcellcultures.Intheembryo,specificactivityofthisenzymeislowuntilthe16thdayofdevelopment,thenrisesrapidly.Inculturesofretinaltissuefromearlyembryosthereisarapid,sharp,andcontinuousincreaseinthespecificactivityofglutamotransferase.Thevaluesreachedgreatlyexceedthoseattainedinvivoinembryosofcomparableage.Thereisasimilarcontinuousincreaseinspecificactivityofthisenzymeinaggregatesofretinacellsfromearlyembryos.Incellcultures,theriseisslightandthislowlevelpersistsuponprolongedcultivation,owing,perhaps,tothepresenceofcellclusters.Undertheconditionsstudied,therateofincreaseinspecificactivityinretinaculturesdependedontheageofdonorembryo.Noincreaseinactivitywasobtainedintwoothertissuesexaminedunderidenticalinvitroconditions.Someoftheimplicationsandpossibilitiessuggestedbythesefindingsarementioned.
