A study of hemoglobin differentiation in Rana catesbeiana☆
[摘要] Thehemoglobinsoftadpole,metamorphosingtadpole,andfrog(Ranacatesbeiana)havebeenstudied.Starch-gelelectrophoresishasshownthepresenceofthreehemoglobinsintadpolesandfourdifferenthemoglobinsinfrogs;metamorphosingtadpoleshavebothtadpoleandfroghemoglobins.Hemoglobinshavebeenisolatedandcharacterizedbyfingerprintingandbyelectrophoresisinurea-containingstarchgels.Thehemoglobinsexaminedaremadeupoftwotypesofpeptidechains,likemammalianhemoglobins.Allfroghemoglobinsbutonehaveamolecularweightaround65,000;onefroghemoglobinofmolecularweightaround130,000hasbeenseparatedbysucrosedensitygradientcentrifugation.Thishemoglobinispresumablyformedbydimerizationofafroghemoglobinwhichshowsatendencytopolymerize,withtheagingofthefrogs,topolymersofevenhighermolecularweights.
