Development in organ tissue culture of kidney rudiments from mutant mouse embryos☆☆☆
[摘要] Thedevelopmentalpotenciesofcomponentsofthekidneyrudimentofprospectivelykidneylessmice,homozygousfortheSdmutation,werestudiedinorgantissueculture.IntactkidneyrudimentsofSdhomozygousembryoswereabletoundergodifferentiationinvitro,althoughtoalesserdegreethannormalandwithabnormalitiesoftheureterandreducedmesenchymaltubuleformation.Reciprocalcombinationsofnormalandmutantkidneymesenchymewithnormalandmutantureterresultedindifferentiationofuretericbranchesandtubuleformation.Normalaswellasmutantspinalcordelicitedtubuledifferentiationinnormalormutantkidneymesenchyme.WhereastheSdmutationdoesnotaffectdifferentiationpotentialsoftheembryonickidneyrudimentqualitatively,asmallerproportionofmutantthanofnormalrudimentsshowsdifferentiation,andthoserudimentswhichdodifferentiatestartlaterandproducefewertubulesthannormal.Thepossiblemechanismsunderlyingthiseffectofthegeneticchangeonkidneydifferentiationarediscussed.
