Ultrastructural differentiation of the oral sucker in the treefrog, Hyla regilla☆
[摘要] TheultrastructuraldifferentiationoftheadhesivediskofthePacifictreefrog,Hylaregilla,wasstudiedbyelectronmicroscopyofembryosvaryinginagefrommid-neurulatoearlylarva.Specialattentionwasgiventothedevelopmentoftheergastoplasmandsecretorygranules—twocytostructureswhichareabsentintheneurularanlageofthesuckerbutbecomeprominentbythelatetailbudembryo.Theprobableoriginofbothisdiscussed.Theonsetofsecretionbytheadhesivediskappearstotakeplaceinthelatetailbudembryo,judgingfromthetimeatwhichthecellsofthesuckershowsecretorygranulesandtheiroutersurfacesbecomesticky.
