Morphogenesis of floral buds of cucumber cultured in vitro☆
[摘要] Youngfloralbudsofcucumberplantswereculturedasepticallyonmediacontainingmineralsalts,sugarandvariousorganicmetabolitesandthedevelopmentofanthersandpistilinthesebudswasstudied.Threetypesofbudswereused:potentiallymale,potentiallyfemale,andpotentiallyhermaphrodite,removedfromseedlingsofmonoecious,gynoeciousandhermaphroditeplants,respectively,butatthetimeofinoculationallbudswereatthebisexualstage.Auxin(3-indoleaceticacid)addedtotheculturemediumpromotedovarydevelopmentinpotentiallymalebuds;gibberellicacidcounteractedthisIAAeffectbutseemedtohavenoconstructiveeffectofitsown,whetheraloneorincombinationwithIAA.VeryyoungpotentiallymalebudstendedtoformovariesevenwithoutadditionofIAA.IsolatedpotentiallyfemaleandpotentiallyhermaphroditebudscontinuedinisolationtheirnormaldevelopmentandwerelittleaffectedbyIAAaswellasGA3,althoughGA3athighconcentrationsseemedtohaveadeformingeffectonthebud(mainlyontheovarytissue).Thebearingoftheseresultsontheunderstandingofnormalmorphogenesisofcucumberflowerbudsisdiscussed.
