Gain and loss of protein in explanted chick embryos☆
[摘要] Attemptsweremadetorelatenetgrowthofchickembryoexplantstothegainandlossofproteins.Chickembryoexplantsmaintainedinthepresenceoffluorophenylalanineshowasignificantlygreaterinhibitionoftheproteinincreasethanofincorporationoflabeledaminoacidsintoproteins.Chickembryoexplantsinwhichgrowth(netproteinincrease)isalmostcompletelysuppressedbyadditionofanaminoacidanalogorbylimitingsupplyofnutrientslosesignificantquantitiesoflabeledaminoacidsfromtheirproteins.Explantswithrapidgrowthshownosuchloss.Itisconcludedthatlossofproteinmayplayasmallbutsignificantroleunderconditionsofgreatlyreducedgrowthandamuchsmallerandperhapsnegligibleroleunderconditionsofrapidgrowth.
