[摘要] Athighpopulationdensities,mutantFr-17ofD.discoideumformsonlyirregularflattenedaggregatesratherthanthematurefruitingstructuresofthewildtype.Yetmanyoftheendproductsofthenormalmorphogenesisarepresentinthemutant.Theseinclude:spores,ensheathedclustersofstalkcells,avarietyofpolysaccharides,antigensknowntobeassociatedwiththesporesandstalksofthewildtype,andpigment.Inadditionthetemporalsuccessionofthesemorphogeneticeventsisgreatlyaccelerated.
