Glycogenesis in the guinea pig liver during development☆
[摘要] Theincorporationof14C-labeledglucose,pyruvate,andfructoseintoglycogenwasmeasuredinahigh-potassiummediumusingslicesofguineapigliverfromanimalsofdifferentages.Theincorporationofallthreeprecursorswasfoundtobelowinfetallivereventowardtheendofgestationwhenchemicaldeterminationsofglycogenshowedarapidaccumulationofthissubstance.Itwassuggestedthatthepostnatalincreaseofglucoseincorporationintoglycogentogetherwiththeincreasedconcentrationdependencewasduetotheappearanceofthehigh-Kmglucokinaseactivity.Fructose1,6-diphosphataseactivityofguineapigliverwasfoundtobesubjecttoproteolyticactivationthroughoutdevelopment.Changesintheactivityofthisenzymewerenotconsideredtobeofsufficientmagnitudetoexplainthepostnatalincreaseoftheincorporationofpyruvateintoglycogen.
