Developmental changes and control of xanthine dehydrogenases in developing chicks
[摘要] Developmentalchangesinxanthinedehydrogenaseactivityofliver,kidney,pancreas,andduodenumhavebeendescribed.Activityishighinthekidneybeforehatching,butneverthelessthereisasignificantincreaseathatching.Activitiesintheliverandduodenumincreasesharplyathatchingandactivityinthepancreasincreasessubsequenttohatching.Injectionofpituitaryextractsintodevelopingeggsondays16,17,and18resultsinaprecociousincreaseinliverxanthinedehydrogenaseactivityobservedonday19.Theagentresponsiblehasnotyetbeenidentified.Theincreaseinpancreaticxanthinedehydrogenaseisdependentuponfeedingafterhatchingwhereasactivityinothertissuesstudiedisnot.Apparentlytheactoffeedingitselforsomecomponentinthedietinducesthisresponse.Thesestudiesindicatethatatleastthreedifferentcontrolmechanismsforxanthinedehydrogenasearepresentinchicks.
