Clonal analysis of determination dynamics in cultures of imaginal disks in Drosophila melanogaster☆
[摘要] SinglecellsweremarkedgeneticallybyX-ray-inducedsomaticcrossingoverorsomaticmutationinantennaldisksofDrosophilalarvae.Theirradiateddiskswereculturedinadultfemalehosts,wherethemarkedcellgivesrisetoaclone.Afterretransplantationintoalarvalhostthedifferentiationofsuchcloneswasanalyzed.Itisshownthatchangesindetermination(transdetermination)canoccurinsuchcellclones.Thus,presumptivepalpcellswhichnormallyproducetheirowntypeofcellsbycellheredity,maygiverisetowingcells(allotypicelements).Presumptivecellsofthearistaandthethirdantennalsegmentmayproducetarsalcells,whereastheanlageofthesecondsegmentrarelyformsanyallotypicelements.Eachtransdeterminationfromonecelltypetoanotheroccurswithadefiniteprobability.Duringproliferationagroupofcellsmayundergothesametypeoftransdeterminationsynchronously.
