Effects of specific prostaglandins on development of chick embryo skin and down feather organ, in vitro☆
[摘要] Twoprostaglandins,PGE1andPGE1-278,derivativesoffattyacids,whenappliedinculturetobackskinofthechickembryo,stimulateepidermalproliferationandkeratinization.Developmentofthedownfeatherorganiscompletelyblocked.Nohistochemicaldifferenceswerefoundbetweentreatedandcontrolskinswhichcouldbeattributedtotreatmentofthetissuesbytheprostaglandins.TheeffectsareequivocalinculturesusingembryonicextractorWaymouth's752chemicallydefinedmedium.Chemicalspecificityisindicatedbythefactthatadditionalcompoundsincludingthreeotherprostaglandins,norepinephrine,andlinoleicacidproducenoeffectsontheculturedskins.
