Evaluation of Inferior Alveolar Canal Position in Cross Sectional Cone Beam Computed Tomography Images
[摘要] BackgroundandObjective:Conebeamcomputedtomography(CBCT)hasmadeconsiderableimprovementsinmaxillofacialimaging.Estimatingcanallocationisoneofitsapplications.Theaimofthisstudyistoevaluatewhetherdifferencesinpatientgenderoragearepredictiveofdifferencesintherelativelocationoftheinferioralveolarcanal.SubjectsandMethods:ExistingCBCTimages,acquiredbythePromax3D(PlanmecaFinland),takenfromthemaxillofacialregionfrom120dentatepatients(46.7%male,53.3%female,meanage42.1%)(whovisitedaprivateclinicinAhvazwereselectedandprocessedbyRomexisviewersoftware.Sixteenmeasurements(inmm)weretakenattheleveloftheIANandmesialanddistalrootapices.Anatomicmeasurementsweremadeby2observers.DatawereanalyzedbyPearsoncorrelationandt-test.Results:Thedistancefromthemostlingualaspectoftheroottothelingualcorticalplate3mmcoronaltotheapex,werelessinfemalesinmesialanddistalrootsofsecondmolar(Plt;0.05).Noneoftheothervariableswereassociatedwithsexorage.Conclusions:Collectively,thesedataindicatethatrelativepositionsofIANchangesarenotdependentongenderorage.ApplicationofCBCTimaginginpresurgicalplanningisrecommended.
