Has Coronary Artery Disease in Young Patients Referred to the University Hospital Increased?

[摘要] BackgroundandObjective:Coronaryarterydisease(CAD)isthemajorcauseofdeathsandinjuriesintheworld,includingIranandhigherpercentageofdeathsoccurinyoungpeople.ThepurposeofthisstudywastoevaluatetheprevalenceofcoronaryarterydiseaseinthepastdecadeamongyoungpeoplereferringtoangiographydepartmentofGolestanhospital,Ahvaz.SubjectsandMethods:Thiscross-sectionalepidemiologicalstudywasbasedondatacollectedfrompatientsrecordsadmittedforelectiveangiographyAhvazGolestanHospitalfrom2001to2011.Thepatientsweredividedinto5agegroups.EachgroupwasallocatedaccordingtoCADseverity,normal,minimal,one,twoandthreestenosisedvessels.Severityofcoronaryarterydiseaseineachagegroupwerecomparedtenyearslater.Results:TheoverallCADprevalenceinallagegroupswas65.3%in2011and67.6%in2001(Plt;0.54).PrevlanceofCADinpatientsequalandyoungerthan45yrwas52.45%in2001and42.2%in2011(Plt;0.29).In2001,the%ofCADinpatientsaged45-50,50-55,55-60andgt;60yrpatientswhohadCADwas68.1,66.6,71.1,and79.4%respectively.While,theprevalenceamongthesameagegroupin2011was56.25,60,69.5and83.3.respectivley(allPgt;0.05).Conclusion:Theoverallprevalenceofcoronaryarterydiseaseamongdifferentagegroupsdidnotchangesignificantlyovertime.ItseemsthatthereisnosignificantchangeinfrequencyofCADbetween2001and2011years
