Extraction, Preparation of Dry Powder and Physico-Chemical Evaluation of Quince Seeds Mucilage
[摘要] BackgroundandObjective:Inthetraditionalmedicinetheuseofquinceseedmucilagetoamelioratecoughandcontrolofasthmasignsisrecommended.Theaimofthisstudywastocomparethecold-lyophilization,andwarm-ovendrying)andselectasuitabledryingmethodbystudyingthedifferencesinphysicochemical,purityandstabilityproperties.MaterialsandMethods:Waterandalcohol(95%)wereusedforextraction.Themucilagewasdividedintwoparts,eachdriedbyadifferentofcoldorwarmmethod.Theconditionsforthecoldmethod(lyophilizationorfreezedrying)was24hforbothstagesoffreezing(-30°C)anddrying(-50°Cand50mTorpressure)thetemperatureofdryingbyovenwasalsoadjustedon50±1°C.Thephysicochemicalcharacteristics,FT-IRanalysisandelementalcompositionofbothfreezeandovendriedmucilageswerecompared,instrumentally.Results:Themucilagedriedbythecoldmethodshowedabetterpuritythanthewarmmethod.Thisdifferenceofpuritywasclearlyobviousandsignificant(Plt;0.05).However,theyieldvalueofmucilageweightinwarmmethodwasaboutthreefoldhigherthanthecoldmethod.Theresultsofphysicochemicalpropertiesandstabilityofthepowderconfirmedthatevaluationparameterswerewellwithintheacceptablelimitsandshowedabetterresultwiththecoldmethod.Theappearanceofbrowncolorforthemucilagedriedbyovenmethodwasobservedwhichreflectsoxidationbytheproductduringthedryingprocess.Conclusion:ThemucilagedriedbyfreezedryinghadabetterPhysico-chemical,purityandstabilityproperties.
