Evaluation of Typical Antipsychotic Augmentation with Sertraline in Reduction of Negative Symptoms in Patients with Schizophrenia in Ahvaz Golestan Hospital
[摘要] BackgroundandObjective:Theaimofthisstudywastoevaluatetheefficacyofsertralineaddedtotypicalantipsychoticsforthetreatmentofnegativesymptomsofpatientswithschizophreniadisorder.SubjectsandMethods:Thisstudyisarandomizeddoubleblindclinicaltrial.Thirtypatientssufferingfromschizophreniadisorder(DSM-IV-TR)wereselectedrandomlyanddevidedintotwogroups.DepressionwasruledoutbyHamiltonDepressionQuestionnaire.Agroupwasgivensertraline(50mg/day)andtheothergroupreceivedplacebo.Theefficacyofsertralineandplaceboinreductionofsocialwithdrawal‚emotionalwithdrawal‚bluntedaffectandothernegativesymptomswasassessedweeklywithPANSSscaleduring6weeks.Results:Sertralinedidnotimprovesocialwithdrawal‚emotionalwithdrawal‚bluntedaffectandothernegativesymptomsinschizophreniapatientscomparedwithplacebo.Conclusion:Addingsertralineontypicalantipsychotictreatmentdoesnotseemtoimprovenegativesymptomsinpatientswithschizophreniadisorder.
