Attitude of 40-60 Years Old Women of Ahvaz City towards Menopause and its Relationship with Demographic Factors

[摘要] BackgroundandObjective:Menopauseisoneofthenaturaltransitionstagesofgrowththatcouldbethecauseofphysical,mental,social,andpsychologicalchanges.Bothpremenopausalandpostmenopausalwomen#039;sattitudestowardsthisphenomenonareimportantissues.Theaimofthisstudywastoinvestigateattitudestowardsmenopauseinwomenaged40to60andsomeinfluencingfactors.SubjectsandMethods:Thisisacrosssectionalstudywasconductedon400,40to60yearsoldwomeninAhvazcityin2012.Toolsfordatacollectionweredemographicandattitudequestionnairesthatwerecompletedbyinterview.Attitudescoresweretransformedto0-20range.Highestscoreswererelatedtobetterattitudestowardsthemenopause.Attitudescoreslessthan10wasconsideredasabadattitude,andattitudescoresgreaterthan10wasconsideredasagoodattitude.DatawereanalyzedinSPSS16.0usingdescriptivestatistics,t-testsandANOVAatasignificantlevelof5%.Results:Meanofattitudescorewas14.4±3.3.Negativeattitudewasrecordedin14.5%(n=58)ofwomen,and85.5%(n=342)hadapositiveattitudetowardmenopause.Therewasasignificantrelationshipbetweenattitudescoreandincome(Plt;0.0001)andeducationlevel(P=0.02).Conclusion:Althoughthemajorityofwomeninthisstudyhadagoodattitudetowardmenopause,butitisnecessarytomakemoreeffortsforitsimprovement.
