Report of PDA Closur by Nonsurgical Approach in Pediatric Less than 15 Years Old in Emam Khomeini Hospital Ahvaz

[摘要] BackgroundandObjective:Ductusarterisusisalargenormallyductthatcommunicatepulmonaryarteryanddisendingaortainfetus.Afterbirthandrespirationthisductisnormallyclosed.Oneofthecongenitalheartdiseasesispatentductusarteriosus(PDA).Patencyofthisductresultsinheartfailureorendarteritis.Treatmentinvolvesbothsurgicalandnon-surgicalinterventions.Inthisstudyweevaluateourfirstnon-surgicalinterventionexperiencesinKhuzestan.SubjectsandMethods:FourteenPDApatientswhowerediagnosedbyechocardiographyunderwentoftranscatheterclosurewithamplatzerorcoilResults:NarrowestpartofthePDAclosetopulmonaryarteryhadamediansizeof3.7mm(rangefrom1.6-6.2mm).AllPDApatentswithexceptionofone,completeocclusionwasacheivedaftertheprocedure.Onfollowup,thatpatienthadnoresidualshuntafterthreemonths.Noneofourpatientshadcomplicationsimmediatelyandonfollow-up.Conclusion:OurfistexperienceshowedthatPDAoccluderbyamplatzerorcoilissafeandeffectiveandrecommendedformajorityofPDA.
