Comparison of working length determination by NSK electronic apex locator with the radiographic method on necrotic deciduous molars: In vitro
[摘要] BackgroundandObjective:Workinglengthdeterminationisabasicprocedureinendodontictreatmentofpermanentanddeciduousteeth.Radiographyistheconventionalmethodofcanallengthdetermination.Inthismethodthedistancebetweentipofthefileinsertedintherootcanalandthetipoftheradiographicapexismeasured.ThepurposeofthisstudywastocompareworkinglengthdeterminationbyNSK(NSK;Japan)electronicapexlocator(EAL)withtheradiographicmethodonnecroticdeciduousmolars.SubjectsandMethods:Thisinvivostudyperformedon60rootcanalsof20primarymolars.CanallengthmeasuredbyNSK(NSK;Japan)electronicapexlocatorcomparedwithradiographicmethod.Pairedsamplestestwasusedforthestatisticalanalysis.Results:ThemeancanallengthofDteethwas13.82mmwiththeradiologicmethod,and13.83mmwithEAL.Therewerenosignificantdifferencesbetweenthetwomethods(P=0.81).TheaveragecanallengthofEteethwas15.03mmwiththeradiologicmethod,and15mmwithEALshowednostatisticallysignificantdifferencesbetweenthetwomethods(P=0.57).Totallythecanallengthwas14.43mmwiththeradiologicmethod,and14.42mmwithEALwithnostatisticalsignificantdifferences(P=0.85).Conclusion:AccordingtotheseresultsofthisstudywecanuseEALinsteadofradiographicmethodinworkinglengthdeterminationofprimaryteeth.
